Episode LVI - Uncivil Peace

Everyone else is doing it, so now we are, too. It's the Comic Book Haters' special "Civil War" podcast. Marvel comics has rocked the very foundation of life as we know it with an exceptionally lame mini-series (or, rather, 'event'). Join DJ Sloofus and Schooly G in their erudite and susquepedalian discussion of the summer's shittiest crossover. As an added bonus, Schooly G actually read the comic. Click right here to listen in to it.

Outside the Comic Book Haters' Studio #2: Pete Bagge

Is there a better alternative cartoonist than Pete Bagge out there? All signs point to "No." The Comic Book Haters consider it an honor to sit down and discuss his career. Well, to be honest, Schooly didn't seem to care too much. Nevertheless, join us for a discussion with the creator of HATE, SWEATSHOP, ROCK 'N ROLL DAD, YEAH!, and so many other grand titles. A special focus on Pete's latest project, the post-nuclear adventures of the APOCALYPSE NERD, is also given its fair share of time. Click on over here to listen in, or forever wallow in a lifetime of regret.

Episode XLV – Disingenuous Insincerity

Always willing to help out the "Little Guy," the Comic Book Haters frequently take a look at some smaller, independent titles. This time around, the focus is on a comic which garners about the same amount of attention as this podcast. "Wasted Minute," by Lewis Helfand, is reviewed by our panel of judges. Please take a gander at the accompanying illustration, adeptly enhanced by our own Umbrellaman, to get a taste of what's in store for those who listen in to this episode. Mr. Helfand, please forward any forthcoming royalty checks to thecomicbookhaters@yahoo.com.

Outside the Comic Book Haters' Studio #1: Johnny Ryan

At long last, the Comic Book Haters have taken a step away from their usual haunting ground, the Funnybook Dungeon, for a look at the outside world. For this, the first installment of "Outside the Comic Book Haters' Studio," a very special guest has graciously agreed to field their ridiculous questions.
Johnny Ryan, creative mastermind behind Angry Youth Comics, took time from his presumably busy schedule to chat it up with DJ Sloofus and Schooly G. Ryan's work harkens back to the "Glory Days" of the independent comics scene, and stands as a stark contrast to the myriad "sissy books" which are plaguing the market these days. Click here to witness this groundbreaking moment. Please support Johnny is all of his endeavors, no matter what your sature in life may be.

Comic Book Robot Sets Critics Ablaze!

INTERNET, Atlantic City: Ever a companion to controversey, the Comic Book Robot has once again ignited the furor of God-fearing folk across the land. The recent "Inside the Comic Book Haters' Studio: Comic Book Robot" episode, hosted by Umbrellaman, has caused quite a fiasco in the CBH crew's hometown of Atlantic City.
The episode, which aired on local internet but has not yet been broadcast to the denizens of the intra-web, featured an in-depth interview with the foul-mouthed centurion. Throughout the course of the discussion, Comic Book Robot made several unsavory comments, including disparaging remarks about several distinct individuals.
Almost immediately upon airing, local church groups and citizens brigades formed en masse outside the studios of the Funnybook Dungeon. Book burnings, anti-hate hate marches, and other forms of protest were immediately undertaken.
Series co-host (and current custodian of the robot) DJ Sloofus was visibly shaken by the ordeal. "That f****** hunk of metallic s********* has gotten me into enough trouble," he said. "I have to put up with his r***** all the time; believe me, it's no picnic." DJ Sloofus, along with co-host Schooly G, is unsure as to whether or not the episode will see wider distribution. "I don't want people to think we support him. Or it. Or whatever the p**** it is," he said in a recent telephone interview. "I hate to censor anything, but I'd really like to close the book on this guy once and for all."

Episode LIV - A Plagued Love

Initial response to the initial "Comic Book Haters versus the Zombies" serial have been overwhelming, to say the least. Though we can't promise a response to each and every query, we would like to at least cast the illusion that most are read. Any missives promising stock options or investment opportunities are most welcome. But we digress. Episodes three and four are in pre-production, but promise to answer the overbearing question on everyone's mind: "Will Our Heroes (and Cappy) decide to go Up, or Down?" As previously stated, none of this will appear in today's episode. But rest assured, there will be plenty of zombie talk this time around. Insert something into this slot to listen in to this nonsense.
